If you are wondering where to stay in Munyonyo, Casa Solada Hotel offers a quiet, boutique base on the northern shores of Lake Victoria. We are a 4-minute walk from Speke Resort Munyonyo and about 38 km from Entebbe International Airport. The lake, local events and the city are all within easy reach.
This short guide explains why Munyonyo works so well for both business and leisure trips, how to get here, and what to expect when you stay with us.
Why Stay in Munyonyo?
Munyonyo sits within the greater Kampala metropolitan area, yet it feels far calmer than the city centre. Tree-lined roads, the waterfront and a slower pace make it well suited to guests who want rest without losing touch with Kampala.
At the same time, the city centre is only a short drive away. As a result, you can attend meetings or visit cultural landmarks during the day and return to a peaceful setting in the evening. For many travellers, that balance of lakeside calm and city convenience is the main reason to choose Munyonyo.
Staying Near Speke Resort for Conferences and Events
Speke Resort Munyonyo is a 4-minute walk from our door. Attending a conference, a wedding or another event there? Staying at Casa Solada means you can simply walk to the venue instead of sitting in traffic.
We also host meetings of our own. Our conference venue in Munyonyo offers 1,200 sq ft of adaptable space for up to 65 people. Layouts range from boardroom to theatre style, and the room has an HD projector with a roll-down screen. Delegates can stay, meet and dine in one place.
Close to Lake Victoria
Munyonyo lies on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Many guests choose the area simply to be near the water, whether for an early-morning walk or a relaxed evening after a busy day.
The hotel sits in the leafy part of Munyonyo. As a result, you get the lakeside setting together with a quiet, private place to rest.
Visiting the Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine
The Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine is about 1 km from the hotel. It is one of the easiest places of interest to visit during your stay. As an important place of pilgrimage in Uganda, it features in many of our guests’ plans.
If you are travelling for Uganda Martyrs Day on 3 June, we recommend booking early, as the season is a busy time for travel in the area.
Getting Here from Entebbe International Airport
Casa Solada is about 38 km from Entebbe International Airport. The journey takes around 45 to 60 minutes by road, depending on traffic.
The route is served by the Entebbe Expressway, a modern toll road linking Entebbe and Kampala. Therefore, whether you land late at night or leave on a tight schedule, the trip is straightforward. You can find more details on our location and contact page.
